Eric N. Poirier is dedicated to guiding individuals through the profound journey of transforming trauma into a pathway for post-traumatic growth and enhanced well-being. With a deep and nuanced understanding of both individual and collective trauma, Eric recognizes the far-reaching effects of challenging experiences, including human trafficking, global and domestic terrorism, gang activity and violence, natural and non-natural disasters, pandemics, and various states of emergency requiring humanitarian responses. His insights are informed by extensive professional development education, real-world observations, and practical experience in incident response and investigations.
Eric's professional expertise is built on a foundation of rigorous training and recognized designations. As a Forward Facing Institute (Rezilia) Post-Traumatic Growth Specialist, with training in Forward Facing Trauma Therapy and knowledge in Forward Facing (Rezilia) Treating Complex PTSD & PTSD, he possesses a comprehensive contemporary understanding of Trauma Competency in the 21st Century (Forward Facing - Rezilia). This expertise empowers clients not just to cope with adversity, but to genuinely thrive beyond it, even in a non-clinical setting.
Eric's extensive background is further strengthened by his training through the Traumatology Institute (Canada), which is internationally recognized by prestigious organizations such as The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, International Association of Trauma Professionals, National Centre for Crisis Management, Canadian Professional Counsellors Association, National Association of Social Workers, Psych Congress, and the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. From this training, he holds a globally recognized Community and Workplace Traumatologist (TITC-CWT) designation, which integrates specialized skills as an Early Intervention Field Traumatologist (TITC-FT), a Compassion Fatigue Resilience Educator (TITC-CFE), and, as an integrated supplement, training and a designation in School Crisis Response (TITC-SCR). His training through the Traumatology Institute also includes specialized knowledge in Trauma Evaluation & Community Resources, Standards of Community and Workplace Traumatologist Trauma Care: Attachment, Systems & Context, Motivational Interviewing after Trauma, Supervision in Community & Workplace Traumatology, and Group Approaches for Community Trauma Response. He has also completed training as a Parts Work Trauma Specialist through PESI Canada.
Building on this foundation of specialized trauma care, Eric recently advanced his clinical capabilities by graduating from the Academy of Clinical Hypnotherapy as a Clinical Hypnotherapist (Jan 2026). This milestone is the peak, and it represents the culmination of a rigorous professional development, personal research, and educational journey that began in December 2020, further bridging the gap between neurobiology and practical intervention. Parallel to this formal training, Eric has dedicated many of these years of personal research to the development of the framework, The Architecture of Biological Sovereignty: A Unified Framework for Trauma-Informed Neuro-Modulation and Post-Traumatic Growth (TABS-NMPTG). As the author of this framework, he integrates his extensive background in traumatology with advanced neuro-modulation techniques, providing a sophisticated, evidence-based roadmap for individuals to reclaim their biological autonomy and achieve sustainable growth following high-impact life events.
Further demonstrating his commitment to crisis intervention, Eric is a Certified Emergency Crisis Responder (CECR) through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, where he is also a proud member, he also an Associate Member of The Canadian Association of Counselling Hypnotherapists and Educators (CACHE). His dedication to community well-being is also evident in his role as a registered LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) 2-Day Workshop trainer, equipping others with vital suicide intervention skills. Since September 2024, he signed an on-going service agreement with the Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto (CMHA Toronto), to co-facilitate ASIST for their clients and community.
This comprehensive expertise is continuously refined through ongoing continuing education, professional development, and practical experience gained throughout his career. Eric's clinical holistic approach, combined with his broad experience and specialized training, positions him uniquely to support individuals and communities in navigating complex trauma, fostering resilience, and cultivating lasting well-being.

You are not broken.
"We are not stuck in the patterns that we're in right now. We can change those patterns. We can shape our system toward more regulation, toward more ability to feel safe in connection, to move through the world in a different way. And the biology, the research, tells us that this is in fact true."
